Thanks to the lovely Sam who hosts this meme at Taking On A World of Words. This is a weekly meme where I answer the three W’s of reading: What are you currently reading? What have you just finished reading? What will you read next?

What are you currently reading?

1984

I finally decided to read 1984 by George Orwell. This book is one of the oldest on my TBR so it feels good to finally pick it up. I’m about quarter of the way through at the moment and really interested in the world he has built. I’ve heard great things so looking forward to reading more!

I am also still listening to the audio book of Hard Choices by Hillary Clinton.

What did you recently finish reading?

Three Dark Crowns

I FINALLY read Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake and I am so glad to say that I really enjoyed it. I was a little apprehensive after so many mixed reviews but I really liked it. I have to point out that I think the blurb is a little misleading as I think it would be more suitable as a blurb for the whole series but there is plenty to like about this book. Check out my review here.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Rebel of the Sands (Rebel of the Sands, #1)

Definitely Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton! I’m going to an event at the end of this month with both Alwyn Hamilton and Katherine Webber (author of the fantastic Wing Jones) so I really want to read this before that. It also means I will be able to dive into the sequel when it is released in February!

What have you been reading this week?

Do you have any thoughts on the books I’ve mentioned?

  2. I have always wanted to read 1984 but I am yet to pick from the library. I hope to do so some time soon though. Rebel of the Sands has some really good mentions so I hope that you will enjoy it. Happy reading!

  3. Glad you’re enjoying 1984! I put it off for ages because I thought it would be stodgy like lots of other classics, then I couldn’t believe how gripping it was!

Hope you enjoy Rebel of the Sands. I read it when it first came out and liked it quite a lot. Have fun at the author event! 😀

  4. I hope you enjoy 1984. My mom loves talking about reading it before 1984 and being afraid it would become true! Happy reading and thanks for participating in WWW Wednesday!

  5. I want to read 1984 so bad! I had to read Animal Farm for school, which sucked, in my opinion, and I find 1984 way more interesting! I read Rebel in the Sands last year, but didn’t really like it, but I hope you enjoy it more than I did!

      • Oh, yeah, definitely; I was just bored from it all. I just don’t find an allegory about dictatorship and other things pertaining to WWII too interesting. XD I took an Honors English class, so yeah.

  6. Glad to hear that the unmixed reviews for Three Dark Crowns might be unfounded. I’ll try to get to it this year if I can! And I hope you enjoy Rebel of the Sands. It’s another one I really want to read!
Thanks for stopping by my WWW earlier 🙂
    Happy Reading!
