WWW Wednesday: 22nd February 2017

Thanks to the lovely Sam who hosts this meme at Taking On A World of Words. This is a weekly meme where I answer the three W’s of reading: What are you currently reading? What have you just finished reading? What will you read next?

What are you currently reading?

A Conjuring of Light (Shades of Magic #3)

I only started this last night and read the first couple of chapters but when I get home later I plan on getting my nose stuck right into this! It’s already amazing to be back in the world Schwab has created (I LOVE Lila Bard, just had to say that) but I am sad this will be our last adventure with these guys! This book is a bit of a whopper so it could take a while to get through. (I also anticipate this could be on a lot of WWWs this week!)

What did you recently finish reading?

King's Cage (Red Queen, #3)

I decided to pick up King’s Cage. I was slightly reluctant as Glass Sword (book #2) was not my favourite but I am so glad to say that this book was much better. I felt that Mare had more to her character and although it was still rather wordy, it was a better story on the whole. My review will be live later this week!

What do you think you’ll read next?

The Kite Runner  Wires and Nerve, Volume 1 (Wires and Nerves, #1)

It depends how long it takes me to read A Conjuring of Light but these two books were on my list of hopeful reads this month so it would be great to get at least another one of them under my belt!

What have you been reading this week?

Do you have any thoughts on the books I’ve mentioned?

  2. I’m currently reading King’s Cage and I feel completely the opposite. I’ve had it since Sunday and I’m barely half-way through. It’s like pulling teeth for me. So slow and boring.

  3. I hope that you will like Kite Runner as much as I did. Its an emotional read but quite beautiful. Khaled is one of my favourites. Enjoy your books this week. Happy reading 🙂

  4. My copy of ACoL hasn’t arrived yet so I’m so jealous of those who have started reading/ already read it!! But I’m glad you’re loving it (or since this comment is two days late, I’m sure you’re already done with it!)

  5. I really hope you enjoy A Conjuring of Light! I thought it was a stunning conclusion to the trilogy.
Hope you can find time to get to The Kite Runner and Wires & Nerves. I can’t believe I still haven’t read any Meyer ;P
    Happy Reading 😀

  6. Everyone is reading ACOL without me! I’m going on a trip in early March that will involve lots of curling up on a cozy couch in front of a fire and drinking tea, and i’m thinking it will be a good book for that. Glad to hear you’re already enjoying it so much.

  7. I haven’t read any of Schwab’s work, but I’ve only heard good things about it so I might have to put it on the growing TBR pile. I haven’t read the Red Queen series but I’ve heard a couple of mixed reviews about Glass Sword. The second book always seems to be the hardest to pull of in a series- I’m glad that King’s Cage is better. I’m hoping to read them soon too!

  8. Nice! I keep seeing ACOL pop up on my twitter & wordpress streams & each time kick myself for waiting so long to read AGOS smh lol. I kept telling myself I didn’t want to have too much of a wait btwn them & then too much time got away from me. I hope you enjoy ACOL & that is a satisfactory conclusion! Wires and Nerve Is currently sitting on my shelf tempting me every day when I come home from work lol. I just started The Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco which I’m reading for review so I’m trying to be good & stay on course LOL! Happy reading 🙂

    • Ah it’s such a good series! At least when you do get to AGOS you won’t have to wait for ACOL! 🙂 Wires and Nerve looks so beautiful and I loved The Lunar Chronicles so I am super looking forward to more from Iko. Ah I’ve had my eye on The Bone Witch, have heard some good things. Hope you enjoy it! 🙂

      • This is true & my patience for series isn’t the best so it works haha! IKO 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 I luv that underneath the dust jacket it’s all shiny and the graphics are also on the cover itself. The Bone Witch has seen so many mixed reviews. I’m about 25% in & I can tell ya it’s helllllla descriptive. I don’t mind since I’m used to epic fantasy/high fantasy but this is classified as YA so I can see why readers aren’t hanging in there. It would prob do better in adult fantasy. I’m enjoying it but I don’t think it’s going to be for everyone lol. Also, it’s a series starter so I think the author made this one all about world building & sacrificed the pacing of the plot 🤷🏻‍♀️lol but thank you 😃

  9. Is Wires and Nerve a Lunar Chronicles book?
I’m so jealous of everyone reading A Conjuring of Light this week, but hopefully I will join you all in reading it next week. I completely agree about being excited to read it and sad that it will be over.
Thanks for visiting my WWW post!
