Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely people at The Broke and the Bookish. This week TTT is still on hiatus so I’ve looked back at previous themes and picked one that I thought I would enjoy doing. I’ve decided to shame myself by putting out there the name of 10 popular authors whose books I am yet to read! I plan on changing this very soon as some of these are on my TBR for March!
1. Melinda Salisbury
I plan on changing this VERY soon as this trilogy is on my immediate TBR for the month. I have heard such great things about this trilogy and from Twitter alone I know that Melinda is in fact the Queen of everything.
2. Holly Bourne
Holly Bourne is one of the many Queens of UKYA and I am upset with myself that I am still yet to read her books, especially the Spinster Club books (which I own!!).
3. Samantha Shannon
I love a YA fantasy so it is strange that I’ve not read this yet. I own the first book though and am determined to get into this series before it gets too many books into it and it feels overwhelming. I’ve heard incredible things!
4. Sarah J. Maas
Possibly controversial in the world of YA book blogging but I’ve never read a Maas book! I considered the TOG series but think it’s too far in for me now!
5. Louise O’Neill
I have heard that Louise’s books are excellent reads and I own both of them already. (Do you see a common theme yet??)
6. Margaret Atwood
Margaret Atwood has such an incredible back list of books but somehow I’ve never read nay of them?! I am hoping to read The Handmaid’s Tale this month as I want to read it before the TV adaptation that’s coming out soon.
7. Maggie Stiefvater
Yet another YA fantasy series that I’ve heard a LOT about but never read. I know that Maggie has also written several other books. I’ll have to give her a try one day!
8. Non Pratt
I have so many friends who just ADORE Non’s books and her writing. I own a couple of her books and am already really looking forward to her upcoming book Truth or Dare. About time I sat down with a cuppa and read some of these!
9. Laini Taylor
I am SO horrendously ashamed that I’ve still not read her first trilogy despite owning it. I am SO excited for Strange the Dreamer that it feels wrong!! Laini is doing a signing in Cardiff in April so we all know what needs to happen before then ..
10. Marie Lu
I love YA books and I love dystopian books so why I have not read Marie Lu’s books, I do not know. Can someone get me more hours in the day please?!
Which popular authors have still not made it onto your ‘read’ list yet?
Which of the above authors do you recommend most?
Follow me on Twitter, Instagram, Bloglovin’ or Goodreads. Comments are always warmly welcome.
This is a great previous theme to pick out! The only author on this list I’ve actually read is Atwood. In fact, I hadn’t even heard of Salisbury or Shannon before this post! Thank you for enlightening me. I’ll have to check those out. What a lovely (And colorful!) list. Are any of these books on your TBR short list?

Glad you’ve discovered some new authors from my post! I’m currently midway through Melinda Salisbury’s trilogy and it’s fab. I also hope to read Holly Bourne’s books in the next month or so and the new releases!

I absolutely loved both of Marie Lu’s series! The Legend series is a MUST for any distopian lover.

Great, thanks for recommending it! A few people have told me they think I would love that series! 🙂

Ahh there’s so many of these I haven’t read either like Holly Bourne, Samantha Shannon, Louise O’Neil, Margaret Atwood, Marie Lu… Hopefully I haven’t read SJM’s Throne of Glass series, but I have read ACOTAR and I was not a huge fan tbh. I ADORE Maggie Stiefvater and Laini Taylor though so I definitely recommend them 😀

I’m really looking forward to Strange the Dreamer but may try to squeeze in Laini’s trilogy first! I’m so glad I’m not the only one who hasn’t read some of these – it seems like the whole world has!
TBH I’m not sure if I’ll ever read SJM but if I did it would probably be ACOTAR because there are already SO many TOG books!

Aside from Margaret Atwood (I read Hag-Seed, but haven’t read The Haidmaid’s Tale YET) and Maggie Stiefvater, I haven’t read any of these authors either.
Not going to lie, I am probably never going to pick up a Sarah J. Maas book lol I don’t even know why?

I feel similarly about SJM, I just have this feeling I won’t but who knows! Maybe one day!

Okaaaaaay, you need to read Holly Bourne as soon as you can. But I definitely feel you!
According to this list…
I have read 5/10 authors and loved 2/5 of them and hated 1/5..
And I want to read 3/10 of them like the hype is all over me but I need to find the time and a new budget LOL

I haven’t read Salisbury, Lu or Taylor yet, but I have each of their books at home to get to this year for sure.
And you really REALLY need to read the Handmaid’s Tale! It’s absolutely brilliant 🙂
Happy Reading!

The Raven Boys, ACOTAR and ACOMAF and the Handmaid’s Tale are all must reads! There’s a lot of mixed reviews from TRB because it’s honestly a really weird series, but it’s beautifully written and I adore it 😍. ACOMAF is seriously one of my favorite books ever (*fangirling*) and the third book comes out in May!

Oh dear, this looks pretty similar to my list of must-read authors too. Getting there, slowly – but those damn authors keep publishing new books. Maybe we should ask them to stop for a few months so we can all catch up???? 😉

I think that would be a fantastic idea! But would they do it?! There is also the problem of all these lovely new authors releasing wonderful sounding debut novels that I still need to read 😉

Though I’d like too (and really *should* since I own the series), I’ve never read Sarah J. Maas’ books either! They look interesting though. Marie Lu is another author who I’d like to read. I’ll have to remedy this soon. 🙂

I read Maggie Stiefvater’s “Shiver” series and loved it! It was my favorite for a long time. I’ve also read Legend by Marie Lu and loved it so much! I had some disagreements with the third book but overall love the series. Have fun reading these authors!

You must read Marie Lu, Maggie Stiefvater, and SJM! I haven’t read a Margaret Atwood and Louise O Neill book either, but I have a couple of their reads, and they sound really interesting.

Soo many people tell me to read SJM but I feel like the TOG series is way too far into its run now. I do own ACOTAR though so maybe one day I’ll dip into that!

You NEED to read Melinda Salisbury! I loved the series though I’m still waiting on the final book.
And The Handmaid’s Tale is incredible.
I have only read ACOTAR, and I liked that…so I hope you get a chance there.
Marie Lu’s Legend series is amazing but I haven’t finished The Young Elites series. I haven’t read The Midnight Star. But that series you have to be in the mood for, I think.
Good luck! There’s so many good books and so little time!

Noooo! You can’t make me choose! *g* I haven’t read any Shannon, Maas or Atwood either but I really can’t choose who I’d recommend most of the others. They’re all so different! They’re all brilliant though – you have some of my favourite authors there. 🙂
