Thanks to the lovely Sam who hosts this meme at Taking On A World of Words. This is a weekly meme where I answer the three W’s of reading: What are you currently reading? What have you just finished reading? What will you read next?

What are you currently reading?

  Silver Stars (Soldier Girl #2)

I’m about halfway through reading Silver Stars which is the second book in the Soldier Girls series by Michael Grant. I’m enjoying learning more about our leading ladies but there is an awful lot of war jargon in here that I can’t decide how I feel about. It’s certainly well written though!

What did you recently finish reading?

Front Lines (Soldier Girl, #1)

I enjoyed reading this book and particularly liked the characters. They are so well written and it was interesting to read about women in the war. My full review can be found here.

What do you think you’ll read next?

All About Mia

I’m really looking forward to reading All About Mia which I plan to focus on this weekend. I’ll be reading this and then sending it on to some friends so we can all compare reviews. I’ve heard great things so I’m looking forward to this!

What have you been reading this week?

Do you have any thoughts on the books I’ve mentioned?

  1. I struggle with jargony books, too. It’s frustrating because I feel so discluded and like my reading experience is disrupted. But at the same time, I know that this is a more accurate representation of a world I’m just not familiar with. I hope that in the end you’re glad you read them!!

  3. I’m happy to see another blogger reading Front Lines. I read the first book back when it first came out and really enjoyed it, but it doesn’t seem to get much attention from bloggers. I haven’t read the second book yet, but I’m glad to see it’s as good as the first. 🙂

    • I hadn’t heard much about it until the publishers contacted me to ask if I’d be interested in working with them and actually I’m surprised by how much I’ve enjoyed the books! The second one has a LOT more war action which isn’t always easy to read but I just love the characters!

      • I’m actually kind of glad to hear the second book has more war in it, haha. I loved the first book but it really seemed to drag on at times, especially when it was focusing on their training. So having them actually at war will probably make it more interesting to read, even if it’s upsetting.
