Sam Wu is back for another adventure with Zoe and Bernard (not to forget Butterbutt the cat!). In his newest adventure, Sam is showing the world that he is absolutely, completely NOT afraid of sharks!

Katie and Kevin have really created something brilliant with this middle grade series. These stories are charming, hilarious and relatable. No matter the age of the reader there is something in here to have you chuckling or thinking “ME TOO SAM!”. I can see children all over the world wanting to channel their inner Sam Wu to help them face their fears. I also adore the message these books give: actually it’s perfectly okay to be afraid of something.

This second instalment has everything I adored from Sam Wu’s first adventure: a unique and hilarious voice, effortlessly diverse characters, giggle inducing character names and some of the best illustrations I’ve seen. I love the layout of the books and how they include things like footnotes which will help younger readers get to grips with that way of reading as well as illustrations of all shapes and sizes.

Sam Wu is NOT Afraid of Sharks is sure to make just a big a splash in the middle grade world as the first book did! I can’t wait to see the little people in my life picking this up soon.
