Hey lovely readers. Today I’m starting a new weekly challenge (or maybe fortnightly, we shall see). Since the end of Fandom Frenzy I was looking for something new to do and I’ve been seeing the ABC Book Challenge all over my reader. I first saw it on Sofii’s blog and thought it looked like a lot of tun.
The idea is to work your way through the alphabet each week and share some of the books beginning which each letter that are memorable to you and also those which are still on your TBR. I’ll be ignoring words such as ‘The’ and ‘A’ at the beginning of titles.
Let’s start at the very beginning… (A very good place to start…)
Memorable books beginning with ‘A’
After the Fire | All the Rage | Am I Normal Yet? | The Arsonist
Okay so I’ve read more than 4 books that begin with A but I only wanted to share the very best of that bunch with you. If you haven’t yet picked up After the Fire by Will Hill then what are you waiting for? This is a harrowing but touching story of Moonbeam who is learning a new life after being brought up inside a cult. All the Rage by Courtney Summers was one of the first books that I reviewed on my blog. It is a harrowing tail of what could happen if those around you don’t believe what you’ve said. Trigger warning for rape. Am I Normal Yet? by Holly Bourne is some of the best UKYA out there. I love the Spinster Club trilogy and Evie’s story is one of mental health and friendship. The Arsonist by Stephanie Oakes is a magnificent read all about the characters and their connections. Links will take you to my own reviews of these books if you want to read more about my thoughts.

Asking For It! Oh my goodness, it’s such a difficult read, but excellent too. A little similar to All The Rage in terms of content and So Harrowing.

I’ve been wanting to read The Art of Being Normal for so long! And I really liked All the Bright Places (even though I don’t typically enjoy contemporary YA). My favorite books beginning with A are probably Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer and As You Like It by Shakespeare.

I also have Alice in my TBR. The Astonishing Colour of After is brilliant – enjoy! Love the idea of this challenge. Might have to give it a go.

I am someone who hasn’t read After the Fire yet, even though I’ve been meaning to since it camr out and everyone loved it so much. I will read it one day, I’m sure! I love Am I Normal Yet, and really enjoyed Are We All Lemmings and Snowflakes too. I had mixed feelings on All the Bright Places and Asking for It, but I did also really enjoy the Art of Being Normal when I read it. The Astonishing Colour of After is on my TBR too 😊
My favourite book that I can think of beginning with an A is Arsenic for Tea by Robin Stevens 💜
