I’ve made it! I finally have a week off. No more work until 22nd February which means plenty of reading and watching time. I’ve already finished two books this weekend!

Books of the Week

This week I finished reading Glass Sword, Child 44 and Bridget Jones’s Diary. Bridget Jones was okay, I’ll be publishing my review tomorrow. For me, the film is so much better! I really enjoyed Glass Sword. I thought it was a great second instalment in the Red Queen series. Plenty of action, romance and too many deaths! One of which still has been completely reeling. My book of the week is definitely Child 44. I went into to book not knowing too much about it or what to expect and I think this added to my reading experience. It was a great story with lots of historical information as well as lots of action and a wonderful relationship between Leo and Raisa. I published my review earlier tonight, so check it out if you’re interested in seeing exactly how I felt!

Films of the Week

I’ve seen two movies this week. I watched Limitless with my brother after we failed to see Deadpool at the cinema! (We had our tickets and popcorn, were in the screen, but after one trailer the projector exploded so they gave us all refunds!) We chose Limitless as our back-up plan as we had seen that they have made the same concept into a TV series. Limitless might not be the best film in the world, but I love the concept and will never tire of looking into Bradley Cooper’s beautiful blue eyes! I also watched Child 44 after finishing the book. I wanted to see how it would compare and I wasn’t disappointed. I thought the film was good, the cast were brilliant and I rated it the same as the book. Both had their flaws but were great. This week I have a couple of cinema trips planned so may have some film reviews too!

TV of the Week

For anyone who has checked out my watch-list, you’ll know I have a fairly long list of shows that I watch. Due to being busy in the week, the weekend is my dedicated ‘TV-catch-up’ time. This week I had the following shows to catch up on:

This was Shonda’s week! Three of my favourite shows returned to my screen: Grey’s Anatomy, How To Get Away With Murder and Scandal. I really don’t know how Shonda Rhimes does it but she is magical. I am totally addicted to her shows and I’m about 99% certain I would watch any kind of show she wrote.

My favourite episode of the week was definitely Grey’s Anatomy! It was such a fantastic episode which, as per usual, ripped my right out of my chest. That moment where Zola didn’t want to see her Mom was so emotional. Ellen Pompeo was superb, not that I would expect any less. The way in which this episode was shot was also clever. Having the audience experience Meredith’s hearing loss was a great concept which definitely added to the episode. So glad this soul-destroying show is back on!

Finally…

I’m so looking forward to this week off. Not only do I get extra reading and watching time, but I can catch up with some friends that I rarely get to see. I also plan on having some me time and enjoying some relaxation. Thanks for reading!
