Hi everyone! Can you BELIEVE it is October? My gosh, where has 2017 escaped to? It will be 2018 before we know it. Although I must admit I am enjoying seeing all the 2018 releases news that is now appearing everywhere I look!
I’ve had some great reads this week(end)! The Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo has been high on my highly anticipated releases and it did not disappoint! I then devoured Amelia Fang and the Barbaric Ball by Laura Ellen Anderson on Saturday morning. This is the perfect spooky read for the young ones this Halloween and releases this week in the UK! Be sure to check it out for spooks, laughs and beautiful illustrations. I’m currently enjoying One Dark Throne by Kendare Blake and I was surprised at how quickly I found myself reabsorbed into the world!
Yet again I have not bought a single book this week!! I did get approved for Someone to Love by Melissa de la Cruz which I requested over the summer on NetGalley and I received Even the Darkest Stars by Heather Fawcett in one of my book subscription boxes too!

IT would have to be something SUPER special to beat The Language of Thorns to the top spot this week. I just loved this book so much. The fairy tales were fantastic and I loved the way in which Leigh but her own spin on some well known stories. The illustrations in this book are beyond gorgeous and I loved how they grew around the outside of the stories and then the full picture was revealed at the end. Absolutely beautiful and a book I know I will reread!

- Let’s Talk: My September Book Buying Ban!
Well, hello October! This means that I succeeded in my book buying ban for September (all in aid of reducing my TBR!) but be sure to read my post about how it has gone and where I am taking it now!
October brings with it Halloween and I am really excited to take part in Lauren’s Halloween themed readathon this month. Check out her post for all the details, I’d love to know if you’re also going to take part. Look out for my TBR which will be up soon!
Keep an eye out for a new bullet journal post coming soon! I have two planned for this month and one of those will be a look back at September and how I have planned for this month. The other post is still in the works at the moment!
Have a wonderful week! ❤

I got Language of Thorns last week and it’s one of the most beautiful books ever. I’m still in a bit of a slump when it comes to reading, but it’s definitely inspiring me to pick it up!!

I seriously can’t believe it’s October either 😱
Sounds like you’ve had a lovely week 😊. I’m so looking forward to Amelia Fang!
I’ve read some amazing, and in 2 cases hugely anticipated books this week; Truly Madly Awkward by Beth Garrod, The Empty Grave by Jonathan Stroud and It Only Happens in the Movies by Holly Bourne. I’m now really enjoying The Curse of the Chocolate Phoenix by Kate Saunders.
This week I’ve had a top ten tuesday (which you’ve already read), the Disney Princess book tag on Thursday (https://goldenbooksgirl.wordpress.com/2017/09/28/the-new-disney-princess-tag/), a personal post yesterday (https://goldenbooksgirl.wordpress.com/2017/09/30/remember-remember-the-30th-september/) and a Six for Sunday post today (https://goldenbooksgirl.wordpress.com/2017/10/01/sixforsunday-some-of-my-favourite-fictional-worlds/)
