Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing with you the books I added to my shelf during April. I did treat myself to a few books last month when at bookish events and was also lucky enough to be sent some amazing book post. I also accidentally added a couple of titles to my NetGalley shelf…
I’ve linked to Goodreads throughout and would love to hear if you are anticipating any of these or have read them already!
These are all the lovely books I’ve received during the month of April. Most of these I was really lucky to be sent by lovely publishing folks and a couple I was given by a friend.
The wonderful Tina from Hot Key Books sent me a copy of The Electrical Venus by Julie Mayhew. When I heard about this book I just knew it would be right up my street. I’ve not read it yet but I’m in love with the cover and the concept already.
I was sent a copy of Truth Sister by Phil Gilvin from the lovely people at Impress Books. I’ve heard good things about this from a couple of people who have already read it. This releases in July so I’ll be sure to read it before then!
The fantastic Stevie from Usborne sent me this early finished copy of Slay by Kim Curran. I ADORE the colours on this cover and although I haven’t read it just yet I am hearing the most amazing things about this book and I’m excited to pick it up soon!
I had seen a LOT of chat about this book on Twitter about Aru Shah and the End of Time by Roshani Chokshi so when I was offered the chance to get my hands on a review copy from Olivia at Scholastic I couldn’t say no!
I was excited when I opened my book post to discover a proof of Final Draft by Riley Redgate from the folk at Abrams & Chronicle Books. I totally forgot I requested this so it was a lovely surprise.
I received a copy of The Witch’s Blood by Katharine and Elizabeth Corr in my April Wildest Dreams book box. I won’t be reading this for a while as it’s the final in a trilogy. Luckily I already own the first two books but I’ve not read them yet so this one will have to wait a little while.
My lovely bookish bestie Steph provided these two beauties for me. The Truth About Alice by Jennifer Mathieu is a book that has been on my Goodreads TBR for years and it has recently had its UK release so I was really thankful for her giving this one to me. She also shared a proof of A Thousand Perfect Notes by C.G. Drews which is beautiful. I do have it on NetGalley but often I prefer to read the physical book. I’ve been warned this one will end with me in tears…
I was lucky to add some great titles to my NetGalley shelf in April. I’ve already devoured and loved My Box-Shaped Heart by Rachael Lucas which releases next week. I’m really excited to read Sadie by Courtney Summers as I loved her book All the Rage.
Both of these books I bought whilst I was in London. I have seen SO many people talking about Scythe by Neal Shusterman and when I read the blurb it sounded right up my street so I had to nab a copy. In Your Light is the debut novel from author Annalie Grainger and Katie Webber highly recommended this to me at YAShot so I bit the bullet and used my 10% off voucher to make an early purchase!
And there we have my April book haul! I am so, so lucky that I am in a position where I receive books and that feeling of receiving book post never gets old. It’s like Christmas day every time a book arrives! Thank you to all the lovely publishers, publicists, authors and bookish friends who send me books – you are all wonderful!
What books did you add to your shelves in April?
Did we haul any of the same books? Have you read any of these yet?
Follow me on Twitter, Instagram, Bloglovin’ or Goodreads. Comments are always warmly welcome.
LOL – I love it how books “accidentally” end up on our shelves!!

I just bought Scythe too because of the hype, but the blurb is really intriguing so I’m gonna jump into it soon! Happy reading!

I actuallly didn’t buy any books till the very end of April, but I was very pleased with my haul, which included Lady Mary and the Beast Player along with the few others. I also got some very exciting review copies, and I’m excited to read them all!
