Hi everyone! I am SO thrilled to be on the blog tour celebrating the recent release of Alice Oseman’s incredible third book I Was Born For This. If you caught my review last month you’ll know I absolutely loved this book.

Today I’m sharing one of the song’s from Alice’s I Was Born For This playlist and then I’ll be sharing a song of my own choice that links back to one of my own fandoms!

Alice’s choice was Blinding by Jakwob ft. Rocky Nti and heres what she had to say about the song! “This was the first song I put on my I Was Born for This playlist – on the 9^th November 2015, can you believe! The lyrics perfectly capture Jimmy’s feelings of discomfort with his fame and all the attention on him. “This is the life that you prayed for / But now all the lights are blinding you”. It also captures Angel’s eventual feelings of disappointment with her connection to The Ark and the week she meets them, which definitely doesn’t turn out as wonderfully she thinks it’s going to. “These are the moments people live for / But your heart is hard to what’s surrounding you”

My choice is Teardrop by Massive Attack. Back in my late teens into early twenties, I was MASSIVELY involved in the House M.D. fandom on Twitter and Tumblr. Gosh I loved those days and staying up until all hours live streaming the new episodes, making content for my tumblr, chatting with my fellow fans. Some of whom I’ve had the great pleasure of meeting. I’ve also had the pleasure of meeting Hugh Laurie (yes, I cried). This song was the opening track of the show and whenever I hear it I’m immediately transproted back to those magical days, even if the music video is a bit peculiar…
