The ABC Book Challenge: D

4.png

Hi everyone! Today it’s time to look at my shelves and turn our attention to the letter ‘D’!

The idea is to work your way through the alphabet each week and share some of the books beginning which each letter that are memorable to you and also those which are still on your TBR. I’ll be ignoring words such as ‘The’ and ‘A’ at the beginning of titles. I’ve linked to Goodreads pages under the images and to my own reviews in the text if you want to check out more about these books.

Memorable books beginning with ‘D’

Damage | Dangerous Girls | A Darker Shade of Magic | Daughter of Smoke and Bone | Doing It

I don’t even know where to begin with these five books. They are all pretty unique to one another but are all absolutely brilliant in their own way. I have to start with A Darker Shade of Magic and Daughter of Smoke and Bone by the Queens of YA Fantasy V.E. Schwab and Laini Taylor. I adore these trilogies. They are both exquisitely written with words that dance across the page. If you enjoy reading fantasy books and haven’t read these then get to it! I honestly couldn’t recommend them highly enough. Damage by Eve Ainsworth is a book that I read really recently and I enjoyed it a lot. It is a tough read with really explicit references to self-harm but it is an important read. Dangerous Girls by Abigail Haas is a thriller that I read several years ago. It’s not often I find YA thrillers to be totally exhilarating but I LOVED this book so much. Doing It by Hannah Witton is one of the best non-fiction books I have read. It should be required reading as part of the Relationships and Sexual Education curriculum in schools.
