My Rating: ★★★

I am a HUGE Disney fan, I even run a blog with over 25,000 followers. I adore the original animated Alice in Wonderland movie and I loved the first Alice in Wonderland live action adaptation. So as you can imagine, I was really excited to see this latest instalment in the series.

I enjoyed this movie, but I didn’t love it. I thought it had a strong storyline and I loved being absorbed back into the world of Wonderland with Alice and friends. It was lovely to see all the old cast back and to explore a new story with them. Although there were some moments which made me laugh out loud, I would have liked a lot more. I thought there was real potential to make this a lot funnier with more memorable moments.

The cast of this movie is just incredible, there are so many different cast members that I adore from so many other movies and this is a real treat. I love Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, Stephen Fry and the late, dearly beloved Alan Rickman. The little tribute in the credits to Alan really brought a tear to my eye. Keep watching as the credits roll to see it!

  1. What a superb cast this film, to have Rickman appear is a sheer joy. It was inevitable that Depp was going to be in something as eccentric as this! A lovely and useful review, thank you for this.

  2. I am a huge Disney fan too and I was super disappointed in the movie. The only thing I truly enjoyed about it were the costumes (amazing!) and the makeup. The time travel idea was fun but it went nowhere. So bummed!
