Sunday Summary 19.02.17

Hi everyone! I hope you’ve all had a great week. I had a super busy and tiring week but it’s finally half term which means I have a whole week off ahead of me! This is the first Sunday in weeks where there haven’t been any ‘Sunday blues’. Plus I’m off to London tomorrow so I’m excited for that!

bookish-updates

My Sister's Bones  Of Mice and Men  King's Cage (Red Queen, #3)

I managed another few books this week! I really need to catch up with my Netgalley books (and stop requesting more!!) so I decided to read My Sister’s Bones by Nuala Ellwood. This is a slow burn thriller with lovely atmospheric writing. My review will be up tomorrow! I then knocked Of Mice and Men off my backlist because I had still not read it!! Shocking. I’m currently half way through King’s Cage which is the latest instalment in the Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard. I’m enjoying it so far.

recently-added

Wires and Nerve, Volume 1 (Wires and Nerves, #1)  The Vagina Monologues  Maresi (The Red Abbey Chronicles, #1)

My order from Wordery arrived this week and so did my pre-order of Wires and Nerve by Marissa Meyer (FINALLY!!). I am a huge fan of The Lunar Chronicles so I am excited to be back in that world with Iko on a new adventure. I’ve had a little flick through and the illustrations look fab!

Ms. Marvel, Vol. 1: No Normal  Vendetta (Blood for Blood, #1)  Highly Illogical Behaviour

I am a sucker for Kindle books because sometimes the prices are only down for a certain amount of time! Here are some bargains that I picked up this week – all were on my tbr so they felt 100% justified!!

I also gained two books from book boxes this weekend but will post them next week as don’t want to accidentally spoil anyone!

challenge-updates

Progress is being made little by little! I really need to focus on some #DiversityBingo2017 over my half term break.

book-of-the-week

Margot & Me

I finished reading Margot and Me by Juno Dawson towards the beginning of the week and I loved it so much more than I was expecting to. I went into this book not really knowing what to expect but it BLEW ME AWAY! The writing is terrific and this book deals with a whole hoard of sensitive issues in an effective and tender way. This was my first Juno read but it certainly won’t be my last! The link to my review is below.

It is half term! 7 glorious days off to do with what I please! My first plans for this week are to go to London tomorrow. I’ll be going to the Dark Societies event in Waterstones Piccadilly with Katherine Webber and Stephanie Garber. I am super excited as I loved both Wing Jones and Caraval. I’ve met Katie before and she’s lovely. I’m looking forward to seeing her again and meeting Stephanie. I’m hoping to get my copies of Caraval signed too. I’m sure I’ll be back with some kind of book haul after being in London for a couple of days!

Does anyone know of any readathons which are happening between 20th-26th February? If you do, please let me know in the comments!
