Hello you lovely bookish people (if you aren’t bookish then hello to you too!). I’ve had the nicest weekend and I’m now at the beginning of two whole weeks off so I am feeling SUPER relaxed this evening rather than feeling those Sunday evening blues! I am a very happy Kelly this week 🙂

 I’ve read some excellent YA books this week. The State of Grace is a YA debut from author Rachael Lucas and tells the story of autistic teenager Grace. It is such a charming read and I love that it is also #OwnVoices as it gives Grace such an authentic voice. My review will be up early in the week. Today I finished reading The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas and although I had exceptionally high expectations this book blew them right out of the water. I’ll be reviewing this when I can find the words to even justify how brilliant this is. My next read will be Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor, I’m hoping to start it tonight!

I’ve been eyeing up the special edition of Beauty and the Beast which has been illustrated by Minalima. It is absolutely gorgeous! I also received my preorders of the new paperback editions of The Wrath and the Dawn and The Rose and the Dagger by Renee Ahdieh. I’ve heard such fabulous things about these books and I love these new covers!

Woops – more eARCs! There were lots of fab titles added this week and I couldn’t resist. I also got auto-approved by a publisher that I love so I was super excited! I am especially excited to read When Dimple Met Rishi and Flame in the Mist!

There is not a single doubt in my mind that this may be one of the best books I have ever read. It had so much hype surrounding it that I was afraid my expectations would be too high but it blew them right out of the water. Not only are Angie’s writing style and characterisation incredible but she has written a novel that is so relevant and important in what it deals with. Racism can not be taken lightly and this book holds nothing back.

A little more on the blog this week. We will be back up and running this coming week, I also need to schedule posts for whilst I’m away!

I have the BEST week ahead of me – you have no idea how happy and excited I am right now! I’ll be in London Thursday and Friday as I’m going to an extra special event with Angie Thomas and Patrice Lawrence in Waterstones Piccadilly. I’m going with my lovely bookish bestie Rosie and I’m excited to see her and do all the bookish things in London together. On Friday I’m then meeting another bookish bestie of mine, the lovely Steph, for another day filled with bookish things and happy times. Then I’ll be dashing home on the train to finish packing for New York – I’m going on Saturday! I can’t believe how quickly it has come around but I cannot want to go now!
