Hello my lovely readers! This will be rather short as far as a Sunday Summary post goes as I’ve not been very active on the blog this week. I have however just spent an hour writing up some backlogged reviews so there should be much more to see this week! Thanks for sticking with me 🙂
I finished reading Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh on Saturday morning and although it felt like it took me a long time to read I did enjoy it very much. I’m currently devouring If I Was Your Girl by Meredith Russo and I am enjoying it immensely. It is an #OwnVoices book about a transgender character and I am absolutely loving the voice and representation. It’s so honest in a way that only an #OwnVoices book can be.
I don’t mean to scare you all but my book buying ban is going WELL. I did break it once to treat myself to this unexpected collection of shorts from the wonderful Mel Salisbury but aside from that I’ve bought none. This is also the first time in a loooong time that I didn’t go requesting everything on NetGalley so my TBR remains in a stable condition.
I am seeing some progress here!
- Goodreads Challenge: 44/100
- Let’s Turn Pages: 15,283/38,000 pages
- British Books Challenge: 13/12
- 2017 Beat the Backlist Challenge: 7/40
- #DiversityBingo2017: 7/36
Ummmm only one post from me this week! But it is a review of a rather marvellous book so please check it out! Much more to come next week! (I promise!)
- Queens of Geek by Jen Wilde – book review
I finally think I’ve shifted the slumpy feeling. I finished off a couple of audio books this weekend and that helped. I’m slowly crawling towards May half term and I can’t wait. I’m looking forward to taking part in the Series Crackdown readathon whilst I’m off work. The readathon is being hosted by the lovely Mel @ The Book Moo and there will be lots of sprints on Twitter to cheer us on. Let me know if you’re going to join us! I know I certainly have lots of series I want to read and books from series I need to catch up with! Expect to see my TBR here midweek!
Have a wonderful week!
