Hi everyone! Today I’m back to start a new weekly/fortnightly post. I’ve seen lots of book bloggers using this meme as a way to tackle our ever growing TBR piles and thought it was about time I did the same! The Down the TBR Hole meme was created by the lovely Lia @ Lost in a Story. Here are the rules!

• Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
• Order on ascending date added.
• Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
• Read the synopses of the books
• Decide: keep it or should it go?

It has been a while since I did a cull of my TBR shelf on Goodreads and it currently stands at 356 books. Which isn’t actually too bad considering some people have hundreds more but as I tend to go through spouts of bulk adding books, it may be time to start trimming it down! Rather than do this from ascending order though, I’m going to set my settings to ‘random’ because the first lot of books on my TBR are all longtime keepers as they’ve survived many previous culls! I’m also not including some of the books from my TBR that I already own as if I’ve bought them then I most likely would be keeping them! I’ll be starting with 5 books today.

No Filter by Orlagh Collins

I think the cover of this book is absolutely gorgeous and I’ve heard lots of great things about this book. I don’t read a lot of pure YA romance stories but I will probably save this one for next summer, I also have it on NetGalley so I should probably read it! Keep.

Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake

I don’t actually read many horror/scary books and I think I only added this one to the TBR because I enjoyed Blake’s Three Dark Crowns. Remove.

All the Ugly and Wonderful Things by Bryn Greenwood

This book sounds fantastic and really thought-provoking. It definitely seems like one I will cry at! Keep.

The Silent Wife by A. S. A Harrison

I think I added this when I was going through my Gone Girl phase but I dont read as many thrillers these days and there are some on my TBR which would be higher up my priority list. Remove.

Gypsy Girl by Kathryn James

I have no recollection of adding this to my tbr and although it sounds intriguing I’ve not heard many people talking about it. I’m not sure how desperate I am to read this one. Remove.

I’ve kept 2 books but removed 3 which leaves my TBR at 353 books. A good start!
