Thanks to the lovely Sam who hosts this meme at Taking On A World of Words. This is a weekly meme where I answer the three W’s of reading: What are you currently reading? What have you just finished reading? What will you read next?
What are you currently reading?
I’m currently reading two books: one physical and one through audio. I’m about halfway on both books at the moment. I’m thoroughly enjoying listening to Sarah Millican narrate How to be Champion. She is absolutely hilarious but there are also some really strong messages in this autobiography that I really value. I’m very intrigued with The Truth and Lies of Ella Black by Emily Barr. So far there is a lot of mystery around Ella Black and I’m hoping for some kind of big reveal very soon. The chapters are super long which does put me off slightly but there’s enough intrigue to keep me picking it up.
What did you recently finish reading?
My most recent book was Final 7 by Kerry Drewery which is the finale to her trilogy. I love these books and this final book was really fast paced and action packed but also had me in tears at one point too! If you’re interested in a kind of dystopian version of London where influences of media, politicians and social class are really at the forefront then definitely give this trilogy a go!
What do you think you’ll read next?
I was lucky enough to be sent a proof of this book a few months ago and it finally releases next week so I want to read it so I can review in a timely manner. I’ve heard some really brilliant things about it so I’m really excited to finally pick it up!
What have you been reading this week?
Do you have any thoughts on the books I’ve mentioned?
Follow me on Twitter, Instagram, Bloglovin’ or Goodreads. Comments are always warmly welcome.
I’ve read Day 7 and Cell 7 and I still need to read Final 7! I’m glad you liked it, I’ll have to get to it soon!

Final 7 sounds… well, I guess I should look at the whole trilogy. It sounds like something I’d be interested in. And had to put Love, Hate & Other Filters (which has an awesome cover) onto my Goodread’s TBR list.

I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy of The Truth And Lies Of Ella Black! I absolutely loved Flora Banks last year, so definitely high expectations for that one. I hope you will enjoy your books this week and happy reading! Here’s my WWW.

The title and cover of Ella Black certainly have me intrigued. I hope it continues to keep you interested.
I’ll have to look up Kerry Drewery’s series, that does sound like my kind of dystopia.
Have a great reading week!

Kerry Drewery’s trilogy is really fab – especially if you’re interested in social class/discrimination and the power of the media etc. I love them!

I wasn’t so keen on the Truth and Lies of Ella Black I have to admit. I just thought something felt wrong with the whole Bella character. That scene at the start was just too disturbing for me and I don’t think I ever came back from that. Will be interested in your perspective once you finish.

I’m somewhere in the middle on it, having finished. I feel like my opinions are split completely down the middle as some things I liked a lot but then other things were just so unrealistic and not explored enough too! My review should be up next week some time!

You’ve just reminded me I need to add How to be Champion on any list (wish or library)! Looks to be a great read on all levels 🙂

I feel the same way as you about long chapters – don’t get on with them very well. Seems strange for a mystery as they normally have lots of short, snappy chapters with a nice puzzle/reveal to get you turning to the next one.

Some of these chapters were 50+ pages which seemed awfully long in a contemporary!!
