Fandom Frenzy | Sam @ Spines in a Line

Hi everyone! Today I’m back with the next instalment of my Fandom Frenzy blog series. Today we have the super Sam from Spines in a Line joining us to talk about all things Elsewhere!

What fictional world would you most like to find yourself in?

Elsewhere

I was going to say my usual and go with Narnia or Hogwarts, both would be super cool places to visit, but I’m actually going to go a little outside that and choose Elsewhere. I know you technically have to be dead to be there (and I’d like my visit there to be well, well into the future) but it sounds like a really neat place to explore, there’s lots of dogs, and really friendly people.

I’m also gonna cheat a little and add a second one that’s come to mind with the recent news of an adaptation – the Artemis Fowl series (I’m not sure what that world is called). I LOVED this series when I was younger and always imagined myself in this human/fairy world so I’d love a chance to experience that for real!

Which characters in that world would you choose to be your closest allies? Why?

All the dogs, of course! Obviously it’s not great to find out that you’re dead but having a bunch of dogs around you to pet and cuddle with is the ideal way to spend the afterlife.

How do you think you would cope walking in the shoes of that fandom’s protagonist?

I mean, you wake up in a strange place and learn you’re dead so it wouldn’t be great at first. I’d probably behave a lot like Liz and spend a lot of time in denial. It’d be a little easier to accept if I arrived at a ripe, old age but if I was as young as her, it would be really hard to give up on the old life she had so I think I’d do a lot of the same things she does when she first arrives.

Which part of the story would you most like to try and change as the new protagonist? (Try and keep it spoiler free!)

Well again, it’d be nice to live a nice, long life first before going to Elsewhere 😛 But I think it’s already got a lot going for it. Thinking back on it now, it reminds me a lot of The Good Place so maybe I’d add more frozen yogurt places to Elsewhere J
