I can’t believe it is already May! We are almost halfway through 2016 and it’s flying right before our eyes! This has been a successful reading year for me so far and it has definitely helped that I have a number of Goodreads challenges which keep me on track with picking books to read (rather than spending weeks debating which book comes next!). I like to start each month with a tbr list and I usually stick to it. This month I want to read some of the books I already own and some of the ARCs I have waiting on Netgalley. Here it goes!
Paperbacks:
Tiger Lily – I have heard such good things about this book and I think the cover is absolutely beautiful! Really looking forward to this one.
Me Before You – I absolutely must read this before the movie comes out and I’m in the mood for this kind of book at the moment. I’ll make sure to have the tissues at the ready!
You – I’ve seen good reviews of this. I am a sucker for a good thriller and I’m looking forward to seeing what this has to offer. The blurb of this book has already got me slightly spooked!
Wild – This has been sitting on the shelf for way too long. I read quite a bit of non-fiction last month so this will be something I read towards the end of May.
Coraline – I don’t know why I’ve never read this. I love the movie and, helpfully, this little book fulfils quite a few challenge criteria for me.
eBooks/Kindle:
A Darker Shade of Magic – I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve said ‘I absolutely have to read this’ and I still haven’t gotten around to it. This month I will 100% be reading this book. I can’t ignore all the amazing reviews I’ve seen, I just hope my expectations aren’t too high.
When You Reach Me – I was looking through my TBR on Goodreads yesterday and I saw this on there and had no recollection of adding it. Turns out I added it quite a while ago and so I thought ‘no time like the present’!
ARCs:
The Night Stalker – So I actually already finished reading this book this afternoon and it was fantastic! I highly recommend it to people who like a good crime novel.
Don’t You Cry – I was excited to get my hands on this arc and as it will be published this month it is definitely on my tbr for the first week or so of May!
Radio Silence – I’ve had this arc waiting for a while and I just think the cover is beautiful. It has such a high rating on Goodreads which both intrigues and terrifies me. I’m hoping it will be a great read!
What are you planning on reading in May? Are you going to read any the same as me? Or maybe you’ve already read them, what did you think?
Feel free to follow me on Twitter or Goodreads. Comments are always warmly welcome.

Hi Kelly – I was interested to read about your challenge – I am doing the Goodeads CBC Book Bingo challenge which encourages reading more CanLit and having fun with it. I may need to add a couple of your challenges too!

Sounds interesting! I joined a group last year that runs lots of monthly, quarterly and yearly challenges. It has certainly inspired me to read a wider range of books. It feels so satisfying to complete a challenge!
