Books of the Week
This week I finished off reading The Good Girl by Mary Kubica. This was my second Kubica novel after reading her newest release Don’t You Cry and I didn’t think it was as good. Understandable, as this was her debut. It was still a good read but it didn’t give me the thrill I was hoping for. Read more of my thoughts on Goodreads before my review goes up here. Last night I started reading my second Stephen King novel, Mr Mercedes. I’m about 25% through and enjoying it so far. I just really like the way that King writes. There’s something very addictive and beautiful about it.
Films of the Week
I saw two movies this weekend. They were not new releases but they were films I hadn’t seen before. The first was The Lady in the Van starring Dame Maggie Smith. I am a huge fan of hers and her performance in this movie was fantastic. This movie was every bit as hilarious, touching and sarcastic as I expected. A really great movie. The second movie was Aloha starring a host of big Hollywood names: Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone and Rachel McAdams to name the main cast. This was an okay movie. There wasn’t anything particularly special about it and it didn’t make me laugh as much as I had hoped it would.
Films watched in 2016: 39/100
TV of the Week
So my week consisted of the following TV shows:
Game of Thrones is really exciting me this season. I am loving seeing how each episode pans out now it is moving away from the books. Arya is one of my favourite characters and watching her over the last few episodes has had me on the edge of my seat.

Finally…
Orange is the New Black’s new season was released on Netflix on Friday and I can’t wait to watch it! I’m not sure exactly when I’ll fit it in though, so for now it’s a game of ‘let’s avoid the spoilers’.
It’s my birthday on Wednesday so I’m looking forward to a nice week of celebrating with family and friends. I’ll be in work but I know my wonderful work friends will make it just as amazing.
Hope you have a great week everyone!
