The #DiverseAThon is a celebration of reading diverse literature. Hosted by a group of lovely booktubers and bloggers, this week long readathon aims to share a love of diverse reads. Something I have pledged to do this year is to try and read more diverse books and so I thought I would take part in this readathon. The hosts have also created instagram prompts and Twitter chats for participants. There are no specific prompts to follow, you just have to set yourself a goal and start reading! You should follow the official #DiverseAThon Twitter account.
My Goal + TBR
My goal for this readathon will be to read 3 diverse books either with diverse characters or themes. Two of the books I will be reading are also #OwnVoices. Check out the books I will be reading below, covers will take you to Goodreads.
Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton
Diversity: the main character is a POC
I am currently reading this book as I am going to an event with Alwyn next weekend so I am aiming to finish this as part of the readathon. It’s been on my TBR since I bought it last year, I’ve heard great things about it so I’m hoping to enjoy this one.
The Secret Lives of the Amir Sisters by Nadiya Hussain
Diversity: MCs are Muslim, #ownvoices
I’ve heard a lot about this book and I really need to read this as I was lucky to get an early copy and I should have already read this one by now. This will also check off a box on my #DiversityBingo2017!
If I Was Your Girl by Meredith Russo
Diversity: MC is transgender, #ownvoices
I am really excited to read this one as I’ve heard that it is brilliant! I’ve had it on my Kindle for a while so I’m looking forward to getting to it. This also checks off another box of #DiversityBingo2017!
Back-Up TBR
If I happen to read all three of these books then I will pick up one of the below books.
Will you be taking part in #DiverseAThon?
What are your favourite diverse reads?

I’m so tempted to add Rebel of the Sands to my own tbr pile as I keep hearing so many amazing things about it (plus that cover is just so beautiful!)
Good luck with your goal!
