Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely people at The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s prompt is to talk about 10 book series that we have been meaning to start but haven’t yet! Anything that involves a series is always going to get me talking as I’m a big fan of reading series but there are so many I keep meaning to finally read and haven’t. Here are 10 I really, really must get to soon! (She says….)
1. Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy by Laini Taylor
I’ve read Laini’s most recent release Strange the Dreamer and I fell in love with her magical writing. I own this trilogy on my Kindle so there’s really no excuse as to why I haven’t read these yet! Ps. How gorgeous are these covers?!
2. The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon
I’ve heard nothing but excellent things about this series so far and I’m really intrigued by what I know about them. I own the first two books so it’s probably about time I indulged!
3. Blood For Blood trilogy by Catherine Doyle
Again, a series I’ve heard nothing but brilliant things about. For some reason this trilogy hadn’t been on my radar at all until this year and I’m really intrigued by it! This one is complete now so it will hopefully be a great binge this summer!
4. The Next Together duology by Lauren James
I’ve picked these books up several times and for some reason never actually bought them. They look really unique inside and different to your normal novel. Plus who doesn’t love a bit of time travel and romance?
5. The Winners trilogy by Marie Rutkoski
A while ago I was constantly adding and deleting this series from my Goodreads TBR but a few months ago I heard one of my favourite authors recommending this as one of her favourite ever trilogies and I knew I had to add it back for good!
6. Mara Dyer trilogy by Michelle Hodkin
When I first started book blogging everyone seemed to be raving about this trilogy. I was seeing the name Mara Dyer everywhere and these mysterious covers certainly caught my attention. I don’t know that I’ve dabbled with many paranormal fantasy novels but I’m going to give the genre a try with these one day.
7. The Conqueror’s Saga by Kiersten White
And I Darken is one of those books I got really excited about, then loved it when my copy arrived and somehow never remembered to read it. I’ve heard some absolutely fantastic things about this book and the second book in the saga is due for release soon so now may be the time to jump in!
8. The Paper Magician trilogy by Charlie N. Holmberg
It is no secret that I love a book with some aspect of magic involved and my dear friend Steph recently recommended this trilogy to me. I’ve not seen much about it but I’m definitely interested in trying it out!
9. The Wrath and the Dawn duology by Renee Ahdieh
I recently read Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh and I fell in love with her gorgeous writing and world building. I’ve seen a lot of excitement about this duology and I immediately bought these gorgeous covers when they were released in April.
10. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
I am still yet to read a book written by Maas and I’m not entirely sure if I will. I do own the first two books in the ACOTAR series but I’ve heard some extremely conflicting reviews of the books and so I’m not sure whether I will read them. I may give them a go one day but they certainly aren’t top of the pile at the moment.
What series are still lurking on your TBR?
Have you read any of the series I mentioned above?

Many of these series are on my TBR as well, particularly The Wrath and the Dawn duology. I hope you get to And I Darken! I read it towards the end of last year and really enjoyed it! Just keep in mind that is a historical fiction, which is typically slower paced. This reminded me that I need to go out to get book #2!

I think I’ll leave And I Darken for the summer when I can really invest the time to get into it properly! I’ve heard great things about it and the sequel, hope you enjoy!

I’ve read some of these and hated some but loved the others, so that’s interesting! 😂 I have yet to read And I Darken as well, but I don’t know if I will or won’t? I’ll be keeping it in the TBR, though!

Ooh which ones did you hate? I’m always interested in finding these things out!

I didn’t like The Wrath and the Dawn, The Winner’s Curse, and The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, but I’m in the minority of all three, so you’ll probably love them! 😄

Ooh interesting! I’ve definitely only seen positive things about them so this makes me more interested to read them!

The Wrath & the Dawn is such a fabulous duology; I hope you enjoy them! I’m with you on hesitance to read ACOTAR; it seems kind of cliche and poorly-written? I’m not sure. I still have yet to read Magnus Chase, Chaos Walking, and Shades of Magic. WHAT IS MY LIFE.

Oh Ellie, you MUST read Shades of Magic when you get the chance, it’s incredible! Schwab is one of my favourite authors ever. I have TWATD duology on my shelf for the summer 🙂

The Bone Season is SO GOOD! I highly recommend that one. I forgot all about Daughter of Smoke and Bone and also The Winner’s trilogy too. I own books from both of those series and need to read them as well.

Glad I’m not the only one who hasn’t read them 🙂

Oooh, great list! We had a series in common with Mara Dyer. 🙂 That one made it onto my T10T as well, though several of these are also on my TBR. I really highly recommend ACOTAR – the first book is pretty good, but things really pick up in the second book. Here is my T10T!
Oh, and if you are on Facebook and like buddy reads, my FB group Life & Lit actually picked The Bone Season for our July BOTM. 🙂

I would like to read The Bone Season, and the Renee Ahdieh duology looks interesting. I’ve always meant to go back and finish Linda Buckley-Archer’s trilogy. I loved Gideon the Cutpurse, but never read the second or third.

Great list, the Daughter of Smoke and Bone Trilogy was on my list this week as well. I would also love to read the Bone Season Series but am intimidated by how long the series is going to be.

Yes I know what you mean about the Bone Season being a long series but that also makes me keen to jump in now while it’s on three books!
