June Wrap Up & July TBR!

June.png

A little later than planned but I’ve finally reflected on my reading progress in June and thought I’d include a potential TBR at the bottom for the rest of July. My blog has been lacking recently as I’ve been feeling bogged down by life and generally just not been great. June was a great reading month though, so let’s get to it!

Number of Books read: 11

Number of Pages read: 4,304

Am I Normal Yet? (The Spinster Club, #1)  How Hard Can Love Be? (The Spinster Club, #2)  What's a Girl Gotta Do? (The Spinster Club, #3)  ...And a Happy New Year? (The Spinster Club, #3.5)

If Birds Fly Back  Spellbook of the Lost and Found  Our Dark Duet (Monsters of Verity, #2)  The Call

Paper Butterflies  Cell 7  Day 7

I managed to read 11 books in June which I’m really happy with. I read some really fab books too so lots and lots of stars were given! My favourites were Our Dark Duet, Paper Butterflies and The Call. I also adored If Birds Fly Back by Carlie Sorosiak – such a gorgeous debut novel!

Our Dark Duet (Monsters of Verity, #2)

It would take some sort of miracle for me not to select Our Dark Duet as my book of the month for June. I thought it was fantastic from beginning to end and I am now even more convinced than ever that Victoria Schwab can do no wrong! I am so thrilled that I will finally have the chance to meet her twice this month and I’m super excited about it. Honestly these books are just marvellous! Check out my full (gushing) review here.

July TBR Books!

July is finally the month we have all been waiting for – YALC month! I’m really excited to be going for the first time and I’m even more excited to be going with some of my really good bookish friends. I’m also looking forward to meeting more of my online bookish friends in person and talking everything books and YA. In true YALC spirit most of the books I’m hoping to read this month are on my YALC tbr too. I don’t know which ones I will get to but here are some options!

Indigo Donut  Flight of a Starling  One of Us is Lying  Truth or Dare

Release  I Have No Secrets  We Were Liars

  1. You had an AMAZING June, Kelly! I love this list– in particular, seeing that you had so many 5 star reviews. That’s great! It’s been a long time since I’ve had a proper 5 star review book, I’m a bit jealous. 😉 That Our Dark Duet cover is GORGEOUS! I haven’t seen that one before. I’ll have to keep an eye out for it.

My favorite books I read in June were Skulduggery Pleasant and Sleeping Giants. It was a fairly average month for me, sadly. I hope July improves for me.

  2. love the spinster girls books, agree that lotties story was my least favourite but still amazing! I’m in a huge reading slump and I don’t like it, think I’m gunna reread some of my favourites to try and get me out of it ❤

    • I agree, all three were amazing that one just didn’t quite have the same level of humour that I loved in the first two. Oh no, I hate feeling slumpy 😦 I usually reread an old favourite to get me out of it or a graphic novel occasionally! Hope it goes soon! ❤

      • Yeah, I think those two tips always seem to get me out of it, might pick up Silver Linings Playbook, or restart my walking dead graphic novels. I think I’ve tried to read too ambitious books for a slump, i.e. reread the bone season or start The Circle, bad mistake ahah!!
