Thanks to the lovely Sam who hosts this meme at Taking On A World of Words. This is a weekly meme where I answer the three W’s of reading: What are you currently reading? What have you just finished reading? What will you read next?
What are you currently reading?
I’m currently about halfway through reading The Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo. I’m thoroughly enjoying this selection of short stories and being back in the Grisha world. There are lots of gorgeous illustrations around each of the pages as well as full spread illustrations at the end of each story too. Gorgeous!
What did you recently finish reading?
On the weekend I finished reading Invictus by Ryan Graudin. This book is fantastic! It’s full of time travel but also tinged with historical fiction as our time travelling team visit major points in history such as the sinking of the Titanic. I loved the characters and especially Saffron, the red panda!
What do you think you’ll read next?
There’s Someone Inside Your House by Stephanie Perkins is being released really soon and ties in perfectly with my October theme of spooky books! I was lucky to pick up an ARC of this during YALC and I’m looking forward to diving in!
What have you been reading this week?
Do you have any thoughts on the books I’ve mentioned?

I didn’t realize Language of Thorns was a book of short stories. Do you have to read any previous books to understand it? I haven’t read her Grisha series, but did read Six of Crows.

No, not at all! It’s just a series of short stories, almost like folk tales/myths, set in the same world but you could easily read it without knowing anything else!
