Hi everyone! Happy New Year! I can’t believe it’s already 2019 but I’m also quite glad. You’ll have noticed that I’ve been absent from my blog for a while and I won’t be going into much detail about that but I needed to take some well deserved time to look after me and I’ve had a lot going on. I’m back for the new year but I don’t think I’ll be posting daily this year, but a couple of times a week, let’s see how it goes.
Today I’m here to share with you my favourite books of 2018. I didn’t decide on a set number, I just looked through the list of what I read and picked all of the below books because I adored them and want you to check them out too! Links will lead to my full review of the book for you to check out!
Hero at the Fall | The Exact Opposite of Okay | Children of Blood and Bone | State of Sorrow | Clean | Only Love Can Break Your Heart | Spark | I Was Born For This | In Your Light | Exile | Floored | The Storm Keeper’s Island | Theatrical | Wild Blue Wonder | Seed | Sadie | Tender | Tilly and the Bookwanderers
Coincidentally I ended up choosing 18 of the books I read in 2018! All of these books are wonderful in different ways and really made 2018 a wonderful reading year.
Let’s hope for more of that in 2019!
What were your favourite books of 2018?
Do we share any favourites? Are you going to add any of mine to your 2019 TBR? Let me know in the comments.

Welcome back! There are so many books here that I still need to read, I don’t know where to start! 🙂

I’m with Jodi in that I really want to read Sadie this year. I’m not typically a fan of contemporary YA (no magic? no Ellie), but Sadie looks unique + well-written enough for me to give it a shot. My favorite reads of 2018 were probably The Secret History by Donna Tartt, A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles, and Autoboyography by Christina Lauren.

Sadie is really outstanding! So much so that I plan on rereading it this year as I want to try the audio book which is meant to be incredible. Hope you enjoy it.

I also loved Hero at the Fall, though I don’t think it was the strongest in the series.

Happy New Year! I think the only one I’ve read out of this lot is Clean and that’s making it on to my favourites too! I just really loved that book so much.

I have only read three of these, Exile, I Was Born for This and Clean but I thoroughly enjoyed them both. Clean even ended up on the list of my favourite books for 2018 too! Hope you have a fantastic reading year for 2019 too!

Great post!
I really want to read Sadie in 2019, I’ve heard such good things about it. I’m a bit of a slower reader and only read 5 books this year, but I enjoyed them. YOU by Caroline Kepnes was my favorite book read of 2018. Sweetbitter by Stephanie Danler and Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng were also favorites.
Currently reading To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han. Hoping to read Love, Simon next.
Happy New Year!

I read YOU a few years ago and it was so creepy. Have you watched the Netflix adaptation? I thought it was brilliantly done!

Yes I watched the TV Series. It was perfectly adapted! So well done and I was completely surprised by the ending! Totally didn’t see that coming. Can’t wait for the next season. I read the sequel a few months ago and curious to see if it’s going to be similar to the novel.

2 of these have made my favourites lists too (Tilly and the Bookwanderers and I Was Born For This), 1 was on last year’s list because I had a proof (TEOOO) and I’ve really enjoyed all the others I’ve read from your list.
I am very ashamed of myself for still having not read Only Love Can Break Your Heart, and I definitely want to try and get to it soon! Happy New Year 💜
